自由绘图软件系统Free-PLOT是为适应我台科研需要,在VAX8350计算机上发展的高级绘图软件。它可以驱动现有的各类绘图设备,调用数据文件或图像文件,绘制x-y关系曲线图、统计直方图、三维等强度线图、灰度图等等。并且,具有绘制某些特殊符号(如三板管、变压器线圈、齿轮)、几何基本曲线以及解析几何函数计算功能,可以作为初步的计算机辅助设计(CAD),绘制电路图、机械图、光路图、教学用图、表格等等。本文主要介绍了该软件系统的特点、功能以及简单的使用方法。

Based on PGPLOT Graphics Subroutine Library by T. J. Pearson, a new graphics software system named Free-PLOT is developed on VAX 8350 in Yunnan Observatory. It in eludes nearly all advantages of PGPLOT in driving a lot of graphical equipments, to draw a polyline (curve defined by line-segments), to plot a histogram, to draw a contour map or a gray-scale map of an. array or an image. In addition, since it has some special graphical symbols (like triode, transformer's coil, mechanical gear), some basic geometric curves and powerful analytic geometric calculation functions, it could be as a preliminary tools of CAD to make circuit diagrams, mechanics diagrams, optics diagrams, etc. All of operation only uses 128 commands. So that it is very easy to be mastered, even for a person who has never leared any computer language. This paper mainly introduced the character, function and simple instruction of Frce-PLOT system.
