In the paper, it has been briefly described by way of analysis and comparison that some shortcomings, especially the unsuitability for technology exisits in the as pherical degree calculation formulas continueing to use in the past, A new calculation method and formulas are put forth according to practical technology. The formulas have been deduced. It is possible with these formulas to expreess the concept of the aspherical degree accurately and be used to direct production and machining directly
