Scientific Ecocriticism and Its Significance

20世纪70年代前期,随着绿色批评思潮的深化与发展及科学生态学理念的传播,一种被称之为科学生态批评的新文学批评范式应运而生,其倡导将文学置于自然秩序之中,将文学批评理论奠定在以相互联系为基本特征的科学生态学的基础之上,透过跨学科视野,研究文学、文化与环境之间的关系,旨在发掘文学所蕴藏的生态内涵,清理其中的反生态因素,借以重构人类文化,让文化的绿色革命引导人类走出日益严峻的环境困局。

With the development of green thought,and the spread of ecological ideas,a new literary critical paradigm called scientific ecocriticism came into being in the early 1970s.It proposes that literature be put back into the natural order,and that literary critical theory be based on ecology with interrelatedness as its basic feature.It is a study of the relationship between literature and environment from an interdisciplinary perspective,intending to dig out ecological implications of literature and eliminate its anti-ecological elements.Promoting an ecological reconsideration of human culture,the green movement contributes to the survival of man in an age of environmental crisis.
