文道关系自南北朝起就是文学家、文论家讨论的重点论题。作为唐宋八大家之首的韩愈在推行古文运动的过程中提出了"文以明道"说,这种古文理论对宋人产生了深远影响。宋代的文学家、政治家以及理学家都从不同角度或继承、发展,或批评了韩愈的文道观,宋人的接受又对后人产生了影响。

The relationship between ＂wen＂（文） and ＂tao＂（道）is the important topic that writers and literary theorists often discussed from Nan and Bei dynasties.As the leader of the Eight Famous Ancient Essayists in Tang and Song dynasty,Han Yu pushed forward the theory of ＂wen yi ming tao＂（文以明道） in the process of ancient prose movement.This theory had produced profound influence on the people in Song dynasty.The writers,politicians and neo-confucianisms inherited,developed or criticized the Han Yu＇s theory of ＂wen yi ming tao＂（文以明道） from different angles.The reception by the people in Song dynasty had an effect on later generations.
