To provide evidence for growing Rex Rabbit utilizing sheathing leaf of zizania latifolia(SLZL) rationally, the index of body weight, feed intake and digestibility of diet nutrient were measured by feeding different proportions of SLZL for Rex Rabbit. At the age of 50 d,Rex Rabbit were divided into four groups according to body weight and sex,and fed experimental diet including 0,10%,30% and 50% SLZL(Total roughage concentration was 50%,and the shortage was supplemented by peanut straw in the experimental diets). The index of body weight, feed intake and digestibility of diet nutrient were determined at 30 d and 60 d after the feeding experiment. The results showed that SLZL significantly affected body weight and digestibility of crude protein, crude fiber and crude ash.Body weight of Rex Rabbit feeding 10% SLZL was the best among experimental groups, the digestibility of crude fiber and crude ash increased significantly after 30 d experiment, and the digestibility of crude protein and crude ash decreased slightly after 60d experiment.Daily feed intake at 30 d and 60 d after experiment, accumulative feed intake from 1d to 30 d and 31 d to 60 d were no significant differences among groups.Effects of sex and sex×group on body weight and nutrient digestibility were not significant. As a result,SLZL could be used as Rex Rabbit roughage, and feeding 10%~30% SLZL with legume feedstuffs might obtain better body gain, nutrient digestibility and feeding effects.
