赛珍珠因其杂合的身份,曾经一度被中美两国双重排斥。她呕心翻译的《水浒传》也因所谓的"误译"遭受批评。然而,脱离译者身份孤立研究译文难免有失偏颇。从赛珍珠杂合的身份切入,不难解释其杂合甚至"怪异"的译文产生的原因。通过杂合的译文,追求平等、正义的文化交流,是赛珍珠终生追寻的理想。
Because of her hybrid identity,Pearl Buck was not welcomed by both China and America for a time.Her translation of Shui Hu Zhuan was criticized for so-called ＂mistranslation＂.However,it is subjective to judge a version without considering the identity of the translator.Pearl Buck＇s hybrid identity is the underlying cause of her hybrid and strange translation.It is Buck＇s everlasting dream that her hybrid translation would promote equal communication of Chinese and western cultures.
