论莫高窟晚唐第9窟探筹图非投壶图

On the Scene of Drawing Lots in the Later Tang Cave 9 at the Mogao Grottoes

对于莫高窟晚唐第9窟主室中心柱南侧平顶画面内容,虽然早已有学者考证为密迹金刚力士经变,但之后另有学者则长期多次将其中探筹的画面定名为投壶图。本文通过大量文献记载与图像对照,认为应该将该画面定名为"探筹图"或"抽签图"。

The painting on the flat ceiling to the south of the central pillar in the Later Tang Cave 9 at the Mogao Grottoes has long been identified as illustrating Vajradhara. However, some scholars have identified the scene in that illustration as throwing pots rather than drawing lots. A comparison of the documents and the images suggests that this scene should be identified as ＇a scene of drawing lots＂ rather than ＂throwing pots.＂
