The United States is one of the world＇s earliest countries to establish strategic oil reserves and own the world＇s largest strategic oil reserves currently.This article describes the formation of U.S.oil reserves,and its application mechanisms and then analyzes the motivation and effects of America＇s launching oil reserves for 6 times at large-scale.It finally summarizes the important role oil reserves played in ensuring energy security and stabilizing oil prices.At the same time,it proposes policies and recommendations on scientifically and flexibly taking the launching opportunity,and enhancing coordination of strategic oil reserves and commercial oil reserves.
