Sheet break problem due to deposition of pitch, stickles and latex in the dryer section is becoming critical when the furnish is with high DIP ratio and the system is closed. Maintech has developed a sheet break prevention program, a solution that passivates all surfaces of the dryer section where the deposition could cause sheet break. The resulting surface passivation prevents deposition on the cylinder, fabric and drastically reduces the sheet break times. There are considerable advantages of this program for the mills. Case study illustrating gained benefits in a paper board machine is presented.
