论零度——偏离理论对翻译研究的阐释力

On Degree Zero Deviation and Its Application to Translation Studies

零度—偏离是衍生自语言学研究的重要概念,对语言学、修辞学的科学化起到很大的推动作用,引起语言学界的普遍关注和重视。将零度—偏离的概念运用到翻译学研究领域,以阐明人类翻译历史中零度翻译的理想化追求和翻译实践必然偏离之间的张力。结合正、负偏离概念的修辞学分析和翻译作为"越界"行为的哲学分析,文章指出,翻译学作为一门转化之学,不仅涵盖着零度与偏离之间的转化,也涵盖着正偏离与负偏离的转化。语言世界、物理世界、文化世界和心理世界合构而成的"翻译场",是翻译零度和翻译正负偏离之间相互转换的动态矩阵。

As important notions in the fields of linguistics and rhetoric, rhetoric degree zero and deviation help realize the scientific studies in the two fields mentioned and hence under focus. Being a pair of dialectical ideas, they map the relationship of norms and deviations. Borrowing the theoretical framework from the field of rhetoric, this paper aims to analyze the tension between perfect translation and translation deviation. We argue that, being a study of transformation, translation studies are sure to mean the transformation of all kinds of transgressions and also the transformation between perfect translation and translation deviation. The dynamic transformation between perfect translation and translation deviation works in the very way that a matrix does.
