香港高校精英教育的理念及其成果

On the philosophy and achievements of the elite education in Hong Kong

"精英教育"包含对精英开展的教育和培养精英的教育两个方面。由于特殊的历史原因,香港地区近百年的高等教育发展史也是一部精英教育史,其精英教育的形成机制主要体现在学生精选、教师竞聘及服务理念三个方面。香港高校的精英教育虽与英国高校传统的精英教育模式相关联,但在世纪之交却发生了很大的变化。分析中国香港地区高校精英教育的理念及其成果,对于中国大陆更好地确立高等教育的发展方向具有重要的借鉴意义。

Elite education means the education for the elite and the education for fostering elite.The 100-year-old history of higher education in Hong Kong is a history of elite education,which can be seen in the selection of excellent students,the recruitment of excellent teachers and the service concept.Though the elite education in Hong Kong is somewhat a copy of that in the U.K.,the new century has witnessed great changes in it.An analysis of the philosophy and achievements of the elite education in Hong Kong can surely shed light on the higher education in China's Mainland.
