One＇s personality decides one＇s destiny.Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire and Alma in Brokeback Mountain have similar miserable experiences.Both their husbands are homosexual.Blanche is sensitive and fragile.Meeting misfortune,she always shirks and shrinks.Therefore,she ends up by ruining herself.However,when struck by adversity,Alma sturdily endures.Moreover,she bravely gets rid of ill-fated marriage and seeks her own happiness.All these consequences can be attributed to her tenacious and tough personality.Based on the analysis of Blanche and Alma＇s distinct personalities,this thesis elaborates different characters can lead to different attitudes toward life experience and then result in different fate.
