Through a case study of an EPC project,the modular design and conventional design were studied and compared in respect of project quality,safety,saving of capital investment and shortening of project schedule.The implementation of cost control and design optimization in project execution offered advantages of shortened schedule for engineering design and manufacturing of equipment and materials and application of new products.This has improved the competitiveness of products and company＇s capability to cope with the rapid market changes.Good economic benefits have been achieved.
