In Waiting for Godot,Samuel Beckett successfully depicts the lost state of human spirit and human society with the seemingly absurd techniques,presenting reality in nothingness and demonstrating existence in absurdity.Men are in a state of waiting in emptiness for hope and salvation and of searching in pain for happiness and satisfaction.Everything begins with hope and ends in pain and disillusionment.It is more objective and comprehensive to study the themes of Waiting for Godot from the perspective of waiting and searching for the meaning of life.
