With the development of urbanization, rural area is also rapidly developed, people improve the living requirements, ecological environmental protection has be- come new subject of architectural design. This article introduces national characteris- tics and ecological design thought of suspended building folk houses in Xijiang 1000- household Miao Village, Kaili City, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. Suspended building folk houses are plain and practical, ecological and organic building full of vitality, its building essencee is worthy of passing down and promoting.
