On Art Symbol of Vincent van Gogh Self-portraits

The article attempts to analyze the self-portraits of Vincent van Gogh through the principle of basic semeiology.The principle includes signans and designatum,surface structure and deep structure,cold information of arts,symbol-function,the autonomy of art symbols and the shift-symbol principle.The author analyzed the work of Vincent van Gogh self-portrait from the five aspects： the composition,background,prop,style of drawing and appearance of the picture.
