金圣叹在《读第六才子书西厢记法》中说写红娘就是为了写莺莺,陪衬莺莺。红娘是莺莺内心真实情感的外化,展示出的是真实崔莺莺的另外一面。红娘的每一步行动都在为莺莺打算,都以莺莺的感受作为考量的第一要素。《西厢记》通过对红娘的描写来反衬莺莺在追求自由爱情道路上的犹豫反复,以及突破礼教的困难,用红娘来歌颂莺莺的大胆与反抗。论文通过对借厢,琴心,拷艳三折中红娘形象的分析,找出红娘在《西厢记》中和崔莺莺之间的陪衬、衬托关系。

In his how to read the sixth great book： the Romance of West Chamber,JIN Shengtan proclaims that HONG Niang＇s role is just to serve as a foil to the character CUI Yingying.HONG Niang＇s character embodies CUI Yingying＇s true emotional world,the other aspect of a real CUI Yingying.HONG Niang＇s every step is for the benefit of CUI Yingying and in accordance with CUI＇s feeling.It is through the description of HONG Niang that the writer reveals CUI＇s hesitation in pursuing her free love and the difficulty in rebelling the feudal ethnics.It is by the image of HONG Niang that the writer advocates CUI＇s courage and rebellion.This paper analyzes HONG＇s image in the three stories of borrowing West Chamber,playing Guqin and testifying the daughter and concludes that HONG serves a foil to the image of CUI Yingying.
