Islam,as a part of traditional political culture in the Middle East, has an important impact on the political development of contemporary Egypt. The relationship between the secular authority and the religious politics during the eras of Nasser and Sadat was mainly manifested that the former had suppressed and taken advantage of the latter. With the change of the international and national situations, the religious politics has achieved an internal self-renewal in their organization and ideology, and penetrated in the overall society since 1980s.Therefore,' adaptation' and ' confrontation' became the new trends and new characteristics on both sides during the period of Mubarak, and their political relations became more complicated. The secular authority only wanted to utilize the religious politics to provide necessary social services for the public, while it would not like to see the latter get a rival political capital. This caused great difficulties in the process of Egyptian democratization.
