"京"字的本义,两部大型汉语工具书《汉语大词典》与《汉语大字典》均释为"高丘"。"京"在上古文献材料中的实物指向,它有高大建筑、高丘、大仓、国都、都邑诸义。"京"本义宜确定为干栏类的高大建筑,其余皆为引申义。
