质疑、肯定、平衡的轮回与升华——谭恩美身份寻求的轨迹

From Doubt via Confirmation to Balance: A Spiral Revelation——On Amy Tan's Journey to Identity Seeking

身份寻求研究多从单部作品的中西冲突出发,得出从对抗到融合的完美模式。这种静态的"点式"研究中得出的"融合"结论,并非身份寻求的终结。本文借助霍尔流动身份观,以历时和"线形"的研究方法,结合谭恩美身份寻求亲历与其笔下五部小说主人公身份寻求的文本分析,推论出其身份寻求轨迹是一个"由质疑到肯定再到平衡"循环往复永不完结的文化苦旅。

Based on the tradition of Sino-western cuhural conflict, most researches attain a decent identity seeking model from one single novel： going from confrontation to reconciliation. But the uhimate reconciliation achieved with a statically isolated approach by no means marks the end of identity seeking. So, in light of a dynamic perception on identity by Hall, a new model can be concluded with a diachronically linear strategy to combine the analysis of the heroes in Tan＇ s five different novels with her own journey to seek identity. Therefore, it is proposed that Tan＇ s identity seeking is a non-stop cultural journey going from doubt via confirmation to balance.
