恭维语是一种常见的言语行为。中美两国语言都有丰富的恭维语,但不同的语言和文化又决定了在恭维语使用方面存在着差异。本文从恭维语的话题与对象、词法与句法结构、应答模式探讨了中美恭维语的差异,并指出语言与文化是密不可分的,只有努力掌握两种语言及文化背景,才能更好地运用恭维这一言语进行有效的跨文化交际。

Compliment is a common kind of speech act.There are a number of compliments in both Chinese language and American English,but different language and culture cause the difference in the use of compliments.The thesis discusses it from the perspectives of topics and targets,lexical and syntactic patterns,and responses.At last,it points out that language and culture are inseparable.Only by mastering the two languages and cultures can people make use of compliments to make effective.
