十堰地区首次发现“大布黄千”布币

The Founding of Cloth Money,Dabuhuangqian in Shiyan Region,China

2011年夏,十堰市博物馆考古队首次在十堰地区,发现了一批王莽时期的布币,经过考证,确定出土的布币为"大布黄千"。十堰地区布币出土极少,王莽时期的"大布黄千"为首次发现,此币流通时间极短,见证了王莽时期币制的混乱与严重贬值,为研究十堰地区汉代政治、经济与社会生活提供了珍贵的实物资料。

In the summer, 2011, the archaeological team of Shiyan Municipal Museum has found some cloth money of the ruling years of Emperor Wang Mang in Shiyan region, which are Dabuhuangqian after textual research. There have found little cloth money, Dabuhuangqian is the first one, which just had a very short currency period and showed the disorder and devaluation of money system during the ruling years of Emperor Wang Mang. The founding has provided precious materials for the research of Shiyan politics, economy and social life in the Han Dynasty.
