In view of facing challenges from the market ,the necessity and importance of an effective professional and technical training system for ship designers was discussed in this article. Such five sections were presented in detail ： establishment of training organization,introduction of scientific training mode ,designing fit training content, application of various training methods and building up examination mechanism.
