摘要
根据Larsen-Freeman & Cameron(2008),本文认为,由于二语习得过程是一个复杂系统,旨在解释这一过程的外语教学理论也将是一个多元复合、动态开放的涌现理论。其最终的复杂性取决于这一过程本身的复杂性以及可资采用的现代科技研究手段和方法。为了促使这一理论的形成,首先必须充分把握我国外语教育的现状和需求,明确外语教学的目标和衡量标准,建立高质量的、具有国际可比性的动态数据库。
Following Larsen-Freeman & Cameron (2008), this paper argues that, as the process of second language acquisition is a complex system, a theory that purports to account for that process is also necessarily complex, dynamic, open and emergent. The ultimate complexity of the theory is constrained by the complexity of the process itself and by the availability of the ways and means in modern science and technology. One prerequisite for the development of such a theory is to gain a thorough understanding, by building high-quality dynamic databases, of the needs of Chinese foreign language education and its relative strengths and weaknesses as measured against international benchmarks.
