语用综观论视角下的公示语汉英翻译

Chinese English Translation of Public Signs from a General Perspective on Language

公示语翻译关系到一个国家或城市的对外形象。在对安徽省公示语英译现状进行了调查后,以JefVerschueren的语用综观论为理论基础,提出了相关的公示语英译策略。在公示语英译过程中,译者只有从认知、社会和文化的整体角度出发,才能得出准确、得体的译文。

The translation of public signs plays an important role in building a favorable image of a country or city to foreigners. After a research on the present situation of public signs translation in Anhui Province, this paper, taking Jef Verschueren＇ s General Perspective on Language as its theoretical basis, presents some corresponding strategies in the C-E translation of public signs. During the C-E translation of public signs, only from a general cognitive, social and cultural perspective can the translator produce an accurate and appro- priate translation.
