王实甫的《西厢记》对曹雪芹的《红楼梦》创作有着深刻的影响,《西厢记》对宝玉、黛玉爱情观念的形成与发展打下深刻的烙印。薛宝钗对《西厢记》的态度以及宝玉、黛玉与张君瑞、崔莺莺两组形象之比较,艺术地揭示了《红楼梦》的主题。

The Romance of the Western Chamber writen by Wang Shi fu deeply influenced creation of A Dream of Red Mansions writen by Cao Xue qin. Formation and development of the sense of love of Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu were under its influence. The theme of A Dream of Red Mansions was artistically revealed by the attitude of Xue Baochai towards The Romance of the Western Chamber and by comparison of the two group images between Bao Dai and Zhang Cui.
