A scrupulous research has been made on the speech style of Wang Xifeng,one of an important characters in The Dream of Red Mansion,and the speech accommodation theory.In speech communication,convergence can cause solidarity,while divergence can bring deviation.As convergence can make the relationship between speakers closer,divergence makes the relationship more distant.An acceptable communicative approach based on being affiliative and being reciprocal has been suggested for effective and efficient communication.
