英汉第三人称单数代词在叙述文体中使用的对比分析

Contrastic Analysis of Use of Third Person singular Pronouns in English and Chinese Narratives

本文通过有声思维录音和看图作文的方法对英汉两种语言在叙述文体中使用第三人称单数代词的频率和习惯进行对比研究。研究结果显示,在当代口语及书面叙述文体中,英语较之汉语更多地使用第三人称单数代词,汉语较多地使用原词重复和省略主语是造成这种差异的主要原因。研究结果还显示了英汉两种语言第三人称单数代词用于指代动物时的一些差异。

By adopting think-aloud and picture-writing method,this paper attempts to offer a contrastic study of the use of third person singular Pronouns in English and Chinese Narratives.The results of the experiment show that English native speakers makes more use of third person singular pronouns than Chinese in comtempory narratives,which is mainly due to the more repetition of same words and the ommission of sujects in Chinese narratives.The results also shows some differences in the use of third person singular pronouns with reference to animals between English and Chinese narratives.
