Basing on the characteristics of renewing rapidly, many varieties, and small batch of packaging machines, the author proves that group technolrgy(GT) is a strategic measure to yield good economic profits for production of packaging machines, and the writer approaches some problems concerning the steps to put group technology into effect for packaging machine factories, methods of classifying into groups, coding system of classification, designing GT units, computer-aided GT and so on.
