Summary of Taihu Basin Integrated Water Resources Plan

《太湖流域水资源综合规划》在查清流域水资源及其开发利用现状、分析评价水资源和水环境承载能力的基础上,根据流域经济社会发展和生态环境保护对水资源的要求,紧紧围绕流域水质型缺水严重、本地水资源不足和水生态环境恶化等核心问题,提出水资源合理开发、高效利用、优化配置、全面节约、有效保护和综合治理的布局及方案,促进流域资源环境与经济社会协调发展,以水资源的可持续利用支撑经济社会的可持续发展。

Based on the investigation of current water resources situation and analysis of water and aquatic environmental bearing capacity, in accordance with water demand of socio-economic development and ecoenvironmental protection, the Taihu Lake Basin Integrated Water Resources Plan put forward the pattern and scheme of rational development, efficient utilization, optimal allocation, overall saving, effective protection and comprehensive regulation of water resources, so as to solve key issues of bad water quality, local water scarcity and water ecoenvironmental degradation, promote coordinated development of regional environment and socio-economy, and ensure sustainable socio-economic development through sustainable water resources utilization.
