In this paper, a data acquisition system which reads GSM short message with SMSLib is introduced. The system can finish the data acquisition task efficiently. A method of designing and implementing the system is described in the paper. And the paper presents the process of automatic reading short message and storing data in a database mainly. The system was designed with Java Web, so it has good expansibility and is easy to access remotely. The test result shows that the system can finish data acquisition task reliably and has practical value.
