Wang Wensheng＇ s masterpiece the History of Chinese Aesthetics ranges from classical literature works to theory writings with feeling and taste in Chinese literary theory. The book shows us a history not only of the theory development of feeling and taste, but also of the changes of feeling and taste in literary works of past dynasties. Avoiding the clich6 and thinking independently, Wang Wensheng read and analyzed primary data meticulously. He made all the unwearied efforts to seek the original taste of Chinese aesthetics.
