My view on the foundation stage of English teaching for English majors

基础阶段的英语教学在整个英语教学中起着重要作用。这一阶段的教学搞得好,既可以使学生打好语言基础,又能为高年级的学习创造条件。在基础阶段的英语教学中需要教师不断探索教学方法和教学模式,把教学的重点放在培养语言能力上,夯实语言基础,培养出合格的外语人才。

The foundation stage of the English teaching plays a very important role in the whole process of English teaching. To do a better job in this stage, the students can benefit a lot in laying a solid foundation in language learning and creating a better condition for further learning in the advanced stage. In the process of the foundation stage the teachers are required to spare no effort in searching for the teaching methods and the teaching modes. Meanwhile the main tasks of English teaching should be focused on the cultivation of language competence with a solid language foundation so as to bring up some qualified foreign languages talents.
