Plato was a Classical Greek philosopher,writer of philosophical dialogues,who certainly thought that matters of the greatest importance hang in the balance, and was famous for statement that＂there is an old quarrel between philosophy and poetry＂ （Republic, 607b5-6）.This essay tries to figure out the thoughts Plato kept to the poets.The analysis this paper goes through is from the imi- tation theory, the poets＇blind to Homo and God and religion＇s effluence on poetry.
