左撇子生理心理机制的误读——大脑左右半球机能偏侧化优势研究的反思

现代生理学研究发现,左脑主管语言、概念、数字、分析、逻辑、推理等功能,右脑主管音乐、美术、空间几何、想象、直觉、综合等功能。于是公众认为,左撇子更聪明。但科学研究更需要语言、概念、数字、分析、逻辑、推理能力。这是一个矛盾。左撇子协会网站举出许多左撇子政治家、科学家、艺术家、企业家、军事家、运动员,证明左撇子聪明,这又是一个矛盾,因为科学家和艺术家以及运动员需要不同的智慧能力。学者们只是不厌其烦地告诫家长和学校,不要强行纠正儿童的左撇子,因为左撇子聪明,却难以举例证明训练的实效性。当代中国人日常生活中也会表扬或预测左撇子聪明。可是现代生理学、心理学特别是认知神经科学的研究证明,左右利手的人在心理机能方面各有优势,所谓左撇子聪明的神话不过是一种对科学知识的误读,只不过因为人类的活动多使用右手,专家担心右脑不能很好开发而已。人类大脑两个半球虽然有功能一侧化优势,但两个半球相辅相成、协同活动,而且可以互相补充、互相替代。

Scholars have only taken the trouble to caution parents and schools, do not ibrce to correct children＇s left- handed ,because left- handed are smart,it is difficult for example to prove the effectiveness of training. Daily lives of contemporary Chinese people recognize or predict that left - handed are smart. But modern physiology, psychology, particularly cognitive neuroscience studies have shown that the left and right -handedpeople have their own advantages in mental function, the so - called the myth of left - handed being clever is misreading of scientific knowledge, but because of human activity using more the right hand, experts worry that the right brain can not properly develop. Although the two hemispheres of human brain have function side of hte advangage, but the two hemi- spheres are complementary each other, can cooperation activities, and can be complementary and alternative.
