Based on the statistics and the comparative analysis of the oral and written performance of 30 English majors in story-retelling and writing task, this study investigates the effects of the way of input on modified output and the two on the acquisition of non-finite clause. The way of input refers to the combination of negative feedback and the enhancement of input, involving input flood and narrativized method. The study finds that the combination of both elicitation and narrativized method is comparatively more effective in promoting modified output. Also, this way of input, combining with the modified output most effectively facilitates foreign language acquisition. The results are discussed from the perspective of the characteristics of input flood, narrativized method, and output, together with the attention mechanism of the learners.
