The 1990s is an era of book reviews The present thesis claims that the popularity of book reviews is both a reflection of the transformation of the social cultural pattern and a representation of people's choice in culture in this juncture It is revealed that the book review functions as a channel for current people to receive culture,whose shaping is closely related to the way of knowledge production in the information age In addition,the questions concerned with the relationship between book reviews and fashion,and the separation between popular and academic reviews are also touched upon in the thesis
