世纪之交，美国职业教育界正在努力探索学术教育与职业教育相结合的新途径、新方式，推进职业教育综合改革发展，培养具有较强适应能力、创造能力和参与国际竞争能力的高素质职业人才。本文从职业教育面临的挑战，“能力本位”，学术教育与职业教育相结合的途径三个方面。

The thesis analyses the new wave of vocational education reform in America from three parts: (1) the challenges; (2) competence-based vocational education; (3) the ways of combining the academic education and vocational education together.
