苗族古歌作为一种神圣化叙事,其内容不仅仅反映了苗族历史的过程,而是在人们的现实生活中具有重要的作用,如在伦理规范和维系社会秩序等方面。苗族古歌中的婚姻伦理与规则既是人们现实生活的反映,同时还是苗族民众的生活理想。苗族古歌在一定程度上是苗族对现实世界的解释,对过去历史的集体记忆,但其作为"活态"口传艺术,最为核心的是在伦理、价值等方面对人们行为规范的影响。

The ancient hmong song is a kind of sanctified narration. It not only reflects the history of the hmong people, but also plays an important role in their daily life （ e. g. ethics and maintenance of social order）. The ethics and rules of marriage in the ancient hmong song describes the people＇s real life and expresses their de- sire for life. To a certain extent, the ancient hmong song is a kind of interpretation of the real world and the collective memory of the history by the hmong people. Being a ＂living form＂ of oral art, the core of the song is its influence on people＇s behavior code in ethics, values and other related aspects.
