摘要
1861年美国内战开始时,美英在林肯政府对南部封锁、英国颁布的《中立宣言》和"特伦特"号事件上产生矛盾和冲突,一度诱发战争。为了维护联邦的统一,取得内战的最终胜利,美国采取了灵活机动的外交政策,避免了英国对美国内战的直接干涉。
In the beginning of the American Civil War, 1861, the U.S and Britain governments arose contradictions and conflicts on issues besides Lincoln Government's blockade on the south, Declaration of Neutrality published by Britain, and The Trent Affair, which once triggered war. In order to maintain the unity of the federal and get the final victory of the Civil War, the U.S government adopted a flexible foreign policy, and avoided Britain's direct interference in the American Civil War.
