This paper introduces the overview of planning and construction of urban rail transit in Hong Kong, analyzes the generation background of the Hong Kong model, sums up the successful experience of the Hong Kong model and puts forward the enlightenment of ＂Hong Kong model＂ for the planning and construction of rail transit line net-work of the downtown areas of Chongqing.
