An Outline of the Study on Ancient Chinese Ellipsis

从汉代到《马氏文通》这一时期有关省略研究，不同的时代有各自的特点。古汉语的省略研究可分为两个阶段：《马氏文通》以前为训诂或语义研究阶段，《马氏文通》及其以后为语法研究阶段。两个阶段尽管研究的着眼点和方法不同，但都注重省略修辞效果和语用价值的分析。

This article deals with the research of ancient Chinese ellipsis from Han Dynasty to the completion of 《MA SHI WEN TONG》,and its feature in different periods. The research of ellipsis can be divided into two stages : it is called' XLJN GU 'or semantic stage before 《MA SHI WEN TONG》, and the grammatical stage at and after 《MA SHI WEN ToNG》. With different viewpoints and methods, both stages focused on analyzing rhetorical effect and pragmatic value.
