摘要
借代是英汉语言中常用修辞格。它与民族语言及民族文化有着密切的关系，这种关系对英汉惜代辞格的理解及翻译产生很大的影响。
Metonymy is a frequently used figure of speech in English and in Chinese, which is closely related to languagt and culture. As a result, the relationship between them exerts great influence on understanding and translating E/C metonymy.
