Exploring Translation of Internet Buzzwords from the Perspective of Systemic-Functional Theory——Exemplified by 2010 Internet Buzzwords Related to Culture

以系统功能论为理论框架,对2010年四个文化类网络新词做了尝试性翻译。通过解读新词的语境,深入分析其三个语言层次,为准确表达新词语义寻找合适的英文措辞。试译的结果表明系统功能理论在翻译实践中具有很好的指导作用和可操作性。

This article adopting Systemic-Functional Theory as the theoretical framework,attempts to translate four 2010 Internet buzzwords from Chinese to English.Through analyzing the context and the three systemic aspects of the four buzzwords,the authors search for appropriate English vocabulary to convey the meanings of the buzzwords.The result of this exploration reveals the significance of applying Systemic-Functional Theory to guide translation practice.
