A Discussion of Cultural Integration

"入乡随俗"是一种有效的跨文化交际策略和原则,但从文化适应的视角来看却存在片面性。本文探讨了"入乡随俗"的宗教维度和道德维度以及对"入乡随俗"概念的几点不同理解,并且尝试对"入乡随俗"的具体文化背景进行归类,以期对跨文化交际中的"入乡随俗"的文化适应策略进行有效界定。最后,文章提出,跨文化交际过程中最重要的不应该是"入乡随俗",而是文化认同、文化融入与文化和谐。

In acculturation strategies, cultural integration is usually an effective strategy for successful intercultural communication. However, this paper argues that cultural integration sometimes only takes a one-sided approach towards intercultural communication. The paper discusses some different understandings of this concept in terms of religion, morality and cultural contexts, and finally proposes that this term should not be followed blindly. What is more important in intercultural communication should be to maintain cultural identity, integration and harmony.
