20世纪以来,影视传播逐渐成为古典小说传播的一个重要形式。古代小说中的人物,比如关羽,已经有固定的外形、丰满的性格,被大多数读者认同。影视剧如何处理关羽和历史、小说、民俗信仰中的关羽的异同,如何在传统的素材中选取合适的故事来塑造关羽形象,是影视剧关羽形象塑造的关键。如何在当代语境下塑造出让观众接受的人物形象,成为影视改编的难点,也成为文学接受和传播必须研究的课题。

In light of the original classical texts, some images such as Guan Yu have immobile su- perficial images and personalities that the audiences have unanimously agreed upon. However, are there any dif- ferences between the images of Guan Yu in films and television plays and its counterparts in history, fictions and religious description？ It has become an important topic for film and television makers to figure out the image of Guan Yu based on traditional stories. And how to figure out an image of Guan Yu in the present time so that it will be more acceptable for the audiences has become a difficult item for television adaptation and an important issue in literal reception and transmission.
