A comparative study on the development patterns of high-density and compact cities at home and abroad

辨析了中西方不同发展背景下紧凑城市的具体含义,提出了适合中国国情的城市化发展模式———高密度紧凑城市的概念,并指出高密度紧凑城市具有以下几个特征:土地混合利用和开发强度高,人口或建筑高密度化,城市整体形态紧凑。最后,探讨了高密度紧凑城市的空间模式及其测度方法,并提出了相关的建议。

This article firstly elaborates the specific meanings of compact city in different cultures between the East and the West.Then it proposes the urbanization development model which suits for China: high-density city and it even analyzes the features of high-density city: the mixed use and high exploitation intensity of land,the high density of population or buildings and the compact city form.Finally,it discusses the spatial patterns and measurement methods for high-density and compact city.
