Through analyzing the knowledge of metacognition, it is concluded that the application of metacognition plays a significant role in improving the reading level and reading speed, and ensuring the quality of reading for learners. It is pointed out that the application of monitoring strategy of metacognition can promote learners＇ digestion and absorption of the learning content-- the metacognition object.
