Analysis of the Conditions of Deliberative Democracy's Development in China

协商民主理论是20世纪80年代以后在西方兴起的一种民主理论研究。中国有着发展协商民主的本土资源:和合文化的支撑及政治协商的实践土壤,但也存在一些制约因素:公民社会的弱小和选举民主的不足。因为西方语境下的协商民主是建立在一个强大的公民社会和发达的自由选举民主基础之上的。

Deliberative Democracy theory is a kind of democratic theory which has risen in the West since 1980s. China has local resources to develop deliberative democracy which are the support of Chinese harmonious and syncretic culture and the practice of political consultation. But there are also some constraints, such as the weak civil society and the lack of electoral democracy. However, Deliberative Democracy under the western context is built in a strong civil society and based on the developed democracy of free elections.
