摘要
针对半导体光放大器(SOA)与单模光纤的耦合问题,提出了一种渐变折射率平板波导光耦合器。该器件通过渐变折射率平板波导可以有效地对SOA的输出光斑进行变换,并对输出光的发散角有选择性地进行压缩,以达到较高的耦合效率。同时,运用ABCD矩阵方法对该组件的耦合效率进行了数值分析。数值计算结果表明:该耦合技术的耦合效率理论上可达90%以上,并且具有很强的容差性。从光学特性上看,渐变折射率平板波导耦合器可以在许多应用领域替代柱面镜。
Aiming at coupling between SOA and single-mode fibers,a type of gradient-index planar waveguide optical coupler was presented.The gradient-index planar waveguide could transform the output spot of SOA efficiently and compress the divergence angle selectively to achieve the high coupling efficiency.The coupling efficiency was numerically calculated by ABCD matrix.The result shows that the theoretical maximum coupling efficiency is above 90% and that in view of optical characters,the gradient-index planar waveguide coupler can take place of cylindrical lens in many application fields.
